Everybody uses or has used emails at least once. Most email accounts have a web interface but there are some, especially the email addresses of website companies, which require using an email client for sending and receiving emails. The Windows operating system includes an email client called Outlook Express, but this program lacks a lot of features, some of them required by companies. An alternative would be Microsoft Outlook, included in the Office pack, but again, this has its downside, as it takes up a lot of the system resources and it's also costly. A good alternative would be Pegasus Mail. It's a free email client that includes all the features a user may ask for.

The program's installer is a point and click process and can be run on most versions of Windows. Moreover, the hard disk space occupied by the program's folder is around 26 MB, which is small compared to other email clients.

The first run of Pegasus Mail will display a wizard, which helps the user configure his email address to be used with the application. One should know some settings regarding his email address, like the POP or SMTP server. The interface of Pegasus Mail is well organized and allows the user to use graphical buttons for controlling the application's options, besides using the well known menu.

The options for sending and receiving emails resembles the ones found in other email clients, so beginners will have no trouble in using them. Compared to other similar programs, Pegasus Mail has much more features. For example, templates can be used for sending the same type of message over and over again.

Pegasus Mail has an efficient spam filter that manages to intercept all the unwanted or dangerous email messages. It also includes a preview area, for quickly displaying the contents of a message. The maximum number of email accounts the program can control is unlimited.

All the recipient's email addresses, together with names and other personal information can be stored in an address book, for quickly re-sending message to them.

Pros

It includes a simple wizard for configuring an email account, which can be used even by beginners. It also features an efficient spam filters that blocks all the unwanted and malicious emails.

Cons

The large number of settings and options may be confusing at first. Pegasus Mail is a full-featured email client that has all the options a user may want for sending and receiving emails.
